Yo Te Extrañaré

Yo Te Extrañaré

In the years since his departure from Banda Los Recoditos, Luis Angel “El Flaco” has had a solo career that both builds upon and moves beyond his preceding discography. With Yo Te Extrañaré, the Sinaloa native marks 25 years of professional work. Beginning with bright, boisterous horns, his opening corrido “No Me Llamen” bursts with embittered energy as it shuts down those who abandoned the protagonist in bad times. He speaks directly to an ex-lover on the deeply relatable “¿Qué Se Siente?” and the similarly uncensored “Cabrón y Medio.” An emotional duet with Carolina Ross, the title track breaks with that animosity to express a genuine and shared sense of loss, their voices accented by the give-and-take of the instrumentation. Later, he offers a new way to cope on “Antes” and provides grander reflections on life with “Por Si Me Les Adelanto.”
