Best known for her appearance on the TV talent show Rock Star: Supernova and as a recent addition to Pink Martini, singer Storm Large showcases her impressive pipes on Le Bonheur with a variety of covers as well as original material. The rocking power ballad version of Cole Porter’s “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” might not endear her to fans of standards, but those folks may appreciate the orchestral sweep of “Forbidden Fruit” or the swinging “The Lady Is a Tramp.” Elsewhere, Jacques Brel’s classic “Ne Me Quitte Pas” is a dark and richly seductive gem. Much like Pink Martini, this is standards music for the rock generation, and it's done so quite effectively.
