Installments two and three of The Cool Kids’ ambitious 2022 triple album arrive in the form of two solo LPs. Chuck Inglish helms the CHILLOUT half, recruiting a whole bunch of guests to join in a celebration of low-riding late-’80s G-funk: think shout-outs to New Edition and Heavy D on “WORLD ON WHEELS” or talkbox-slathered verses on “THE LIGHTS.” Mikey Rocks serves up more quintessential Cool Kids fare on BABY OIL STAIRCASE—which is to say, minimalist bursts of booming bass, hard-knocking beats, and a whole lot of rarified swag.
