Cosmo

Cosmo

Offering scarcely any notice to his legions of fans, Ozuna announced Cosmo just days before its arrival. Rest assured, nothing about the Puerto Rican superstar’s sixth solo album feels rushed or hasty; instead it’s an exemplar of his holistically melodic approach. In contrast with the Afrobeats escapades of the preceding Afro EP, this 15-song set focuses primarily on reggaetón while making space for other adjacent dance-floor-friendly sounds. His Los Dioses cohort Anuel AA returns for the tropically tinged “Pa Ti Estoy,” while the Sky Rompiendo-produced “El Plan” adds Plan B veteran Chencho Corleone to the progressive mix. Even without guests, his silken voice elevates the synth-laden thump of “Baccarat” as well as the comparatively airier “Clase Azul” and “Mar De Lágrimas.”
